Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to UAE calls on President

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mr. Asif Ali Khan Durrani Monday called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr and discussed matters pertaining to his new diplomatic assignment.

Congratulating Mr. Asif Ali Khan Durrani on his appointment, the President urged him to focus on further strengthening Pakistan’s close and strategic ties with United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The President on the occasion emphasized the need on pursuance of economic diplomacy by all the diplomats to further promote Pakistan’s economic and trade ties with the comity of nations and said that present government accords great significance to the development of trade and commercial cooperation as an integral part of its foreign policy objectives.

The President said that Pakistan highly values its fraternal bilateral relations with UAE and advised the ambassador designate to focus on promoting Pak- UAE cooperation in diverse areas especially trade, energy, oil and gas and infrastructure.

The President urged the newly appointed ambassador for making concerted efforts to encourage entrepreneurs and investors of UAE to invest in Pakistan and avail the various incentive packages the present government is offering to attract foreign and domestic investment in the country.

Noting the Presence of strong 1.25 Million Pakistani community in UAE, the President said that it served as a human bridge between the two countries and advised the ambassador to extend every possible support and facilitation to the Pakistanis living and working in UAE.

The President expressed hope that the newly appointed ambassador would use all his potential and capabilities to further strengthen Pakistan’s trade and commercial ties with UAE.

The ambassador designate thanked the President for reposing confidence in him and assured that he would do his best to further augment Pakistan’s bilateral relations with UAE, focusing on enhancing trade and investment ties.
