Senate: Senate strongly condemns Islamabad terrorist attack

Islamabad: The Senate has strongly condemned Monday’s terrorist incident in District Courts Islamabad and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. Speaking on points of order‚ members said institution of judiciary in the heart of the capital has been attacked.

It was an attempt to demolish and demoralize the judiciary which is the last outpost of social stability in the country. They demanded a clear policy to tackle the menace of terrorism and said that in this regard both the houses of parliament should be taken into confidence.

They also demanded that the Interior Minister should brief the house on the progress made so far in dialogue process with TTP.

The House offered Fateha for the departed souls of those martyred in today’s terrorist incident. Those who spoke on points of order include Babar Awan‚ Saeed Ghani‚ Zahid Khan‚ Haji Adeel‚ Farhatullah Babar‚ Afrasiab Khattak‚ Abdul Rauf‚ Hafiz Hamdullah and Tahir Hussain Mashhadi. The leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said the House will continue to discuss the incident tomorrow.
