Karachi: Approximately 13,269,690 children would be administrated measles vaccination during upcoming campaign in Sindh province scheduled from 19 to 31st May 2014.
This was stated in a briefing organized by Health Department Sindh which was chaired Provincial Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed.
Dr Sagheer said children from six months to ten years age would be administered measles vaccination during the 12-day campaign in 29 districts of the province.
He stressed the need for devising a comprehensive strategy to run the measles vaccination in a better way across the province especially the high-risk areas.
He said media can play important by spreading awareness in this regard during the campaign.
The meeting was attended by Sectary Health Iqbal Hussain Durrani, Additionally Secretary Public Health Dr Suresh Kumar, Project Manager EPI Dr Mazhar Khamisani, Prof Iqbal Memon and representatives of UNICEF and WHO.
