Karachi: Sindh government on Friday decided to promote 584 assistant professors and 10 ex-PCS officers in BPS-19 while 18 officers of BPS-17 were promoted in BPS-18.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Provincial Selection Board-II at Sindh Secretariat on Friday, which was chaired by Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana. The meeting was attended by Alam Din Bulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Planning & Development Muhammad Waseem, Additional Chief Secretary Education & Literacy Dr Fazal Ullah Petchuho, Secretary Services Shafeeq Ahmed Mahesar and Additional Secretary Service Suhail A Qureshi.
The board decided to give promotions to 584 education department officers in BPS-19. Those who got promotions included 339 male Assistant Professors (BPS-18) and 243 female Assistant Professors (BPS-18), who were promoted to BPS-19 as Associate Professors.
Promotions of 10 Ex-Provincial Civil Service (PCS) Cadre officers of BPS-18 were also promoted to BPS-19 by the board along with promotions of 18 BPS-17 officers who were promoted to BPS-18.
Those PCS officers who were promoted in Grade 19 included Agha Abdul Rahim, Rasheed Ahmed Zardari, Javed Sibghatullah, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, Khalid Mahmud Shaikh, Mohammad Sajjad Haider, Ahmed Sultan Khoso, Farid Ahmed Junejo, Abdul Aleem Lashari and Gor Ali Leghari.
Meanwhile, the sources said that the board also considered several other officers for promotion but it failed to do so due to their incomplete documents.
