Karachi:,,, General Secretary Provincial Nurses Association (PNA) Karachi Division Abdul Wahid on Thursday demanded of the health minister and secretary of Sindh to fill the vacant post of director nursing forthwith so as to resolve the problems facing the nurses community.
He expressed these views while talking to office-bearers of PNA Karachi Division. He said director nursing post was lying vacant since May 2014 and all official matters, including examination, have been deferred in this regard.
He urged the government to increase the salaries of nurses equal to federal government fellows, besides restoring nurses service structure and time scale. He said uncertainty prevailed among nurses due to service structure issue. He said promotion of nurses from 16 to 20 BPS had come to a halt due to non-existence of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), so health department should send proposals for promotion to 19 to 20 grades in this regard.
He demanded of the authorities concerned to provide proper representation of nursing in DPC, issue health allowance and pay outstanding dues.
President PNA Salamati Khokhar, Vice-President Muhammad Rehan, Treasure Azra Anwar, Information Sectary Heera Lal and Spokesman Atta Hussain Rajpar were also present in this occasion.
