Call to protect minorities

KARACHI: Hindus organizations and human rights activists on Sunday demanded protection for minorities, especially Hindus community. They demanded curbs against extremist elements.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club pertaining to desecration of temples and atrocities against non-Muslims, Raj Kumar and Amar Lal of All Hindu Rights Organization, human rights activists Karamat Ali and others demanded of the government to take strict action against perpetrators.

They said it was a conspiracy to force Hindus to leave Sindh. They appealed to all Hindus not to migrate to India in fear. “If we collectively decide, we will migrate en block.”

Amar Lal said Hindu girls had been kidnapped and forcibly converted to become Muslims. He condemned the role of judiciary for not protecting the rights of Hindus. He said a girl below the age of 18 years could not be converted into Islam according to law.
