KARACHI: Secretary General of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) Dr Jabbar Khattak has condemned threats to journalists and said that some remnants of dictatorship did not like independent media in the country.
He was speaking at a meeting in CPNE Secretariat here Wednesday. He said that media related persons were being targeted, threatened and revenged for keeping people aware. Threats of killing to senior Editor Mumtaz Alam, attempted murder of TV Anchor Raza Roomi, cracker attack on the house of Peshawar Bureau Chief of Express News Jamshed, and terrorizing other editors and journalists are related to this recent wave of harassment of media.
