Karachi:,,, Black-money of Pakistani crooks amounting to $200 billion should be brought back and used for the welfare of poor Pakistanis, asked veteran labor leader and chairman of Railway Workers Union Manzoor Razi.

He said millions of poor Pakistanis children are sleeping hungry while a huge amount of black-money of corrupt Pakistanis is present in the Swiss banks and the government should redouble efforts to claim it and use if for the welfare of the neglected masses. He said the Pakistani Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar had disclosed last week that 200 billion dollars black-money of 30 Pakistani politicians is lying in the Swiss banks that would be repatriated to this country. This is the first time that a government had brought it on record that 200 billion dollars ill-gotten money amassed by filthy rich politicians had been laying in various banks in Switzerland.

Razi said that it was also the electoral promise of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mian Nawaz Sharif that all the looted wealth of Pakistan would be brought back from the foreign bank accounts. He said if the government managed to get this money it would need not any World Bank (WB) or International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans. He said it is high time to get rid of the costly foreign loans on humiliating terms and even mortgaging the national pride and sovereignty.

He said labor class in Pakistan is facing a lot of difficulties and the government should take notice of them on priority basis. He said if these $200 billion are spent on the workers class, it would change their lifestyle and children of every worker can get a quality education, healthcare and social security cover.

Pasban-e-Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor said that corrupt politicians have made this resource-rich country virtually bankrupt and it is overdue that the assets of these black sheep made from ill-gotten national wealth of Pakistanis should be claimed from abroad and brought back to the country so that they could be used in uplifting socioeconomic and changing lives of poor Pakistanis. He said $200bn is a big amount and if spent on building schools every Pakistani child can get enrolment and free of cost education.

All Pakistan Organization of Small Traders and Cottage Industries (APOST&CI) Karachi chapter president Mehmood Hamid said the national economy is sagging due to lack of investment. He said brining back $200bn black money from Swiss Banks would be a welcome boost for Pakistani economy and would change lives of millions of underprivileged people. He said the government of Mian Nawaz Sharif should claim this money as per changed Swiss laws and spent on social sector in Pakistan. He said this would not only help mitigating hunger and poverty but also to boost small trade and cottage industry.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sindh information secretary Mujahid Channa said his party support the demand of bringing back not only these $200bn but other hidden money of Pakistani politicians in the Western countries. He said it is a sad fact that not only many politicians of opposition but also of ruling parties have amassed massive assets outside the country. He said if only the politicians of two major parties of Pakistan volunteer to bring back their assets and investment, Pakistan could itself be as rich as Switzerland.
