Encroachments removed from Orangi, Qaddafi roads

KARACHI:,,, Following the directive of high court and on the instructions of Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui, the anti-encroachments staff of Orangi Town removed illegal structures along and around Shara-e-Orangi, Shara-e-Qaddafi and Norwegian School.

The project director supervised the razing of two huge structures on 5 thousand sq yards area around the Norwegian School.

The Sind High Court had given fifteen days time to KMC for removal of road obstruction on which the anti-encroachments squad of Orangi Town began its working immediately. A ten member team was also constituted for keeping permanent watch on the establishment of encroachments on different main corridors.

The second phase of the operation would be carried out on Monday in which different occupied lands besides the land of government maternity home would be recovered and challan will be issued. During the above operation the storm water drain ahead of Banaras Bridge was cleared and the encroachments in front of the fire brigade office were removed.
