KARACHI: Fishermen on Wednesday caught a 20-feet whale shark near Karachi beach, and a large number of visitors come to see it.
According to World Wildlife Fund, the scientific name of this species is ‘Rhincodon typus’. In normally weigh around 11 tonnes with length measuring 40-feet. The territory of this jeopardized species is mainly oceans.
The whale shark was shifted to Karachi Fish Harbour, shortly after it was netted.
A similar whale shark was found dead 30-kilometers at Karachi beach on February 6, 2013. Pakistan scientists later successfully preserved the whale shark at Pakistan Museum of Natural History, Islamabad.
