KARACHI: Food Department Sindh has started supplying wheat to Karachi flour mills in order to provide relief to citizens and bring stability in flour prices. Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that in order to bring stability in flour prices in open market and provide relief to the people, a 100kg wheat bag was being sold at Rs 3450.
He said usually food department starts wheat supply in August, but for remedy of current situation, it had started supply from the month of July. He warned the profiteers to refrain from making illegal increase in flour prices, otherwise, strict action would be taken against them.
Dahar also instructed local administration to take strict action for controlling the prices flour and other commodities.
