Four killed, five injured in Karachi violence


KARACHI: Four people were killed and five others injured in different violence incidents here on Tuesday.

An officer of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) was killed and his daughter injured in the wee hours of today in Azizabad area.

According to rescue sources, some unidentified miscreants riding on motorcycle opened fire on a car passing through Azizabad No 2 and critically injured Ashraf alias Achhu and his daughter.

They were rushed to Liaquat National Hospital where Ashraf was declared dead. He received bullet injury in chest while the girl received bullet injury at her leg.

The sources said Ashraf was Assistant Executive Engineer in KDA. He was the trustee of Imambargah Sakeena.

In another incident, a youth, Shakir, 22, son of Qasim, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Shah Baig Lane in Lyari. The body was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.

Yet in another incident, two beheaded bodies of Jameel, 80, son Ahmed and Shakeel, 45, son of Jameel, were found from the house near Golden Bakery in Paposh Nagar.

According to rescue sources, the team recovered two beheaded bodies from Paposh Nagar area and shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a minor, Bilal, one-year old, son of Nawab, was injured in stray bullet in Machar Colony area in Mauripur. He was shifted to CHK for treatment.

In another incident, Zafar, 38, son of Allah Bux, was shot and injured by unknown armed men near Owais Park in Korangi No 4. He was brought to JPMC for treatment.

In another incident, a man, Shafiullah, aged about 37, son of Mir Badshah, was shot and injured by unknowns armed men near Star ground in Landhi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.

Yet in another incident, a youth, Mohsin, aged around 26, was shot and injured by the robbers when he resisted over the robbery near New Sabzi Mandi on Superhighway. He was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

Mohsin received a bullet in his leg.
