KARACHI: Sind Food Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dehar said on Tuesday that 185,499 wheat bags are present in stock of 79 flour mills of Karachi and there is no shortage of wheat, flour and Maida in the city.
In a release he said that it was true that most of the flour mills in the city were being run, while provincial food department was working to give relief to the people.
Moreover, the food minister, while taking notice of non-provision of empty bags to the farmers, issued direction for suspension of food inspector Ali Madad Mugheri.
The minister directed the concerned officials to cooperate with growers and make wheat procurement process transparent. He warned stern action against negligent officers.
