KFHA contractor seeks CM help for receiving gate fee


KARACHI: Karachi Fish Harbor Authority (KFHA) gate fee contractor Syed Fahad Shah Hashmi on Thursday said that under his contract, he has right to receive Rs 10 per block of ice at KFHA but ice dealers are reluctant to pay it as a result, he is facing millions of rupees losses.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, he said that he had got the gate fee contract in January 2013 for 19 months at a cost of Rs 17.77 million and according to the contract, he was authorized to received Rs 10 per ice block entering into KFHA.

He said Managing Director KFHA had also issued a notification for ice gate fee last year but influencial ice dealers continued to defy the fee.

He demanded of Chief Minister Sindh and Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries to take action against the ice dealers who were breaching the law and bound them to pay the fee besides paying arrears of one year.
