KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) slain activist Mansoor Shaikh’s family on Thursday demanded President Mamnoon Hussain and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of extra-judicial killing of Mansoor.
Moving scenes were witnessed during the funeral prayer of MQM activist Mansoor in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Several MQM activists including MQM coordination committee members, national and provincial lawmakers along with local residents participated in the funeral prayer. He was laid to rest in Society Graveyard.
Talking to media after the funeral prayer, the mother-in-law of Mansoor Ahmed, Fauzia Mushtaq, demanded President Mamnoon Hussain and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the killing.
She said that the victim was survived by four children, seven sisters and an intellectually challenged brother. She said that Mansoor’s father died earlier and he was the lone bread earner of family.
She asked as if who would take care of the victim’s family as no one was left with them to take care of them.
Mansoor’s widow blamed Karachi police for killing her husband. She said that her husband was whisked away by law enforcing personnel in the broad daylight. “He was dragged out from his car by security personnel in front of whole market,” she alleged.
