KARACHI:,,, Nanoscale Condensemeter Research Laboratory (NCRL) was inaugurated on Tuesday in Physics Department of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) for the first time in Karachi.
Noted physicist Dr Khursheed Khan inaugurated the laboratory. The laboratory in charge Dr Muhammad Naeem, Director General National Centre for Physic Dr Hamid Saleem and others were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Naeem said that it was first laboratory of Karachi in nanotechnology. He said that aim behind establishing the laboratory was to generalize industrial use of nanotechnology.
He said that by that technology such fibres could be made in textile industry, which could be used for making dirt-proof fabrics and the cloth made from that fabrics would not need to be washed. He said that fire proof cloth with a very low cost could also be made through that technology.
“Revolution can be brought in agricultural sector by using nanotechnology while there are countless uses of this technology in medical field,” he concluded.
