KARACHI: Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) on Wednesday issued final notices to several government departments and cantonment boards for recovery of its outstanding water bills worth millions of rupees.
According to KWSB spokesman, the revenue department of KWSB has initiated a campaign to recover water dues worth millions of rupees from government departments. Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Aslam Khan will oversee the entire process in this regard.
“We have issued final notices to the defaulters and in case of non-recovery, we will be forced to cut their connections,” he said.
He said that the notices were issued to Malir Cantonment Board for not paying Rs 90 million and Korangi Cantonment Board for Rs 15 million while notices were also issued to Pakistan Railways and other government departments over non-recovery of water dues.
