One gunned down in Gulberg


KARACHI: A man was killed and two others were injured in separate incidents in the city on Wednesday. A man, Mazhar Abbas Rizvi, 35, son of Sajjad Rizvi, was killed when unidentified armed men opened fire on him at his shop near Gulberg Chowrangi in Block 18, Gulberg within jurisdiction of Samanabad police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Police said Rizvi had a shop of potato chips and the incident occurred in the morning in which he died on the spot. The reason of the killing could not be ascertained yet.

A youth, Muhammad Mohsin, 23, son of Muhammad Saleem, was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near New Challi area on II Chundrigar Road. The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.

Separately, a man, Saleem, 42, son of Zaheeruddin, was seriously injured when a speeding vehicle hit him near Numaish Chowrangi on Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road. The injured was shifted to CHK for treatment.
