KARACHI: Pakistani designer Huma Nasr of Braahtti participated in International Fashion Festival at a local hotel in Doha by Designers Fashion Lounge and Apex Events recently.
The International Fashion festival is a platform for all designers to showcase their talent to Qatar market. The show featured a red carpet followed by a fashion show by top Asian and Qatari designers .The top celebrity from Pakistan, Fawad Khan who has established his talent over the past years in bollywood also attended the show.
I have very talented and competent workforce in my Karachi based production houses. We stitched clothes, from casual to bridal range, in Pakistan and sell our product in India. Currently, I have 79 well-trained designers in my 40 production units in Karachi, Designer Huma Nasr said.
Supermodels from Asia like Fouzia Aman, Cybil Chaudhry and Rizwan Ali also walked the ramp. The Qatari designers who participated were Rivaage, Jo lamode, Sara Buhindi, Nora Alahajri, Muna Saad and Cadi, Noblesse Couture, Me lamode Labra boutique, Al dabi, Jovrn and Kjay.
“Braahtii started in 2006 being a part of local and international fashion preview and exhibitions, I had created my signature brand by my solo exhibition and displaying my master piece at well recognized venues of Dubai like; The Fashion Gallery, Soiree, Je Roche (Manchester), Studio 39 (Delhi) and West Avenue Store (Delhi). Braahtii has its local store in 2009 as retail and back office for global export consignments. From Karachi, Braahtii targeted of spreading its fashion statements and ideologies across the board and thus successfully launched the very first Pakistani store in New Delhi. In November 2014, Braahtii launched its first store in Amritsar, India,” Huma said.
I believe that trade strengthen bounding between two states and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is doing a great job in establishing trade bounding with other states. My firm is listed in TDAP and I am member of FPCCI too. FPCCI and TDAP are working to promote Pakistani fashion designing products. TDAP held two editions Lifestyle Pakistan 2012 and 2014 in India. These were very well-organized events and drew attention from the participants, She said.
