KARACHI: Police Welfare Society Trust (PWST) Pakistan would observe Police Day on 9 January 2014. Addressing a press conference, Chairman PWST Raja Shafqat Ali Tara said the Police Day would be observed on 9 January 2014 on the anniversary of martyred SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam for which the pictures of Chaudhry Aslam had been dispatched in the city.
He complained that some dispatched pictures had been torn by miscreants, who had also hurled death threats to them. He said if something happens to them, the police department and government would be held responsible of it.
He demanded that the salaries of Sindh police should made equal to Punjab police, separate graveyard should be established for police martyrs likewise Army, and police recruitment should be made on merit.
He demanded of all parties to help them to get police bill passed from National and Provincial Assemblies.
