KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh on Tuesday produced former Chairman Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD), Babar Chughtai, Faisal Masroor and Mujeebullah before Anti Terrorism Court (ATCI) and informed it about their 90-day preventive detention for interrogation.
The personnel of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, along with their counsel produced the suspects, Chughtai, Masroor and Mujeebullah and informed the court that the suspects was picked up during a targeted operation in Karachi.
According to rangers, they had credible information that suspects were involved in providing shelter, funding the target killers and land grabbing.
The detainees will be placed under preventive detention for three months for further questioning under Section 11EEEE (1) and in compliance of Section 11EEEE (3) of ATA.
Former chairman ABAD Babar Chughtai is a famous builder and allegedly belonged to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Earlier MQM strongly condemned the arrest of Chughtai and called it a flagrant act of vindictiveness.
