Karachi: Hyderabad women team overpowered Faisalabad by eight wickets while Peshawar recorded a 64-run victory against Bahawalpur in 9th Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah National Women Cricket Championship in Islamabad on Monday.
Faisalabad batted first at Marghzar Cricket Ground and put on board 177-7 in 50 overs. Rabia Basri (57 not out) and Farwa Batool (47) batted well for the side. Sumaiya Siddiqui captured a three-wicket haul for Hyderabad.
Hyderabad in response easily reached the target in 42.3 overs with four wickets in hands. Sajida Shah played a match-winning and unbeaten 104-run knock. Natalia Pervaiz (43no) also batted well for the side.
Peshawar batted first in a match played at Diamond Cricket Ground and posted 193 runs before losing all of their wickets in 47.2 overs. Asma Tahseen (54) and Bakhtawar Iqbal (51) batted well for the side. Rukaiya Iqbal bowled well for Bahawalpur and captured four wickets. Maria Gulnaz also bowled well for the side capturing three wickets.
In their turn Bahawalpur put on board a measly total of 129 runs before losing all of their wickets in 38.3 overs. Rubina Kausar (63) top scored for the side. Bakhtawar Iqbal hauled three wickets for the victors in the match.
