Karachi: Aleem Bilal scored a hat-trick to help WAPDA beat Police 6-2 and maintain its perfect run in the 61st PSO National Hockey Championship on Monday at Sialkot Hockey Stadium in Sialkot.
Apart from Aleem, Umar Bhutta, Mohammad Usman and Salman Hussain scored one goal each for WAPDA. Ubaid Bhatti and Mohamamad Atif scored one goal each for Police. WAPDA is leading Pool B after winning all four matches it played during the tournament.
In another match on Monday, Navy defeated PTV recording a formidable 5-1 triumph. Akbar Ali scored a hat-trick while Mohammad Sabir scored twice for Navy. Adnan Bashir scored a consolatory goal for PTV.
Navy is trailing behind WAPDA in second place in five-team Pool B, winning two while losing one and drawing one out of the four outings.
Meanwhile, NBP is leading Pool A winning all four matches followed by HEC, who won two, lost one and drew one.
PIA is leading Pool C after winning three out of the three matches it has played. PIA will play last pool match against Railway. Punjab has won three out of the four matches to secure second place in the five-team Pool C.
In Pool D, the only pool with four teams, Army leads the table with three wins followed by SSGC, who won two out of the three matches, in second place.
