Sports: Hockey: PHF announces preliminary squad for Asian Games


Karachi:,,, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday announced a 33-player preliminary squad for the forthcoming Incheon Asian Games, to be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4.

The selected players will undergo second phase of training camp of national at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad from July 2 to 18.

The PHF has directed the players to report to Shahnaz Sheikh, Camp Commandant at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium.

Preliminary squad:

Goalkeepers: Imran Shah, Imran Butt, Mazhar Abbas and Amjad Ali. Full-Backs: Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Khalid, Aleem Bilal and Zahid Ullah. Halves: Muhammad Rizwan Junior, Muhammad Tousiq, Rashid Mahmood, Fareed Ahmad, Tasawar Abbas, Muhammad Sohaib, Muhammad Irfan, Ammad Shakeel Butt and Zohaib Ashraf. Forwards: Shafqat Rasool, Abdul Haseem Khan, Ali Shan, Muhammad Umar Bhutta, Muhammad Rizwan Senior, Muhammad Dilber, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shakeel Abbasi, Arslan Qadir, Waqas Sharif, Kashif Ali, Hafiz M. Rizwan, Asad Bashir, Muzammil Ishaq, Umair Rana and Rizwan Ali.
