Karachi: The Inter-Provincial Youth Games begins today (Tuesday) in Islamabad with different events to be organized by different regions during the next month.
The scrutiny process of the swimming teams will be carried out on Tuesday (today) at Hameedi Hall, Islamabad. Later the swimming event will begin at Jinnah Sports Complex.
Teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Federal Areas and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) will feature in the event.
The events in the tournament include badminton, hockey, table tennis, judo, swimming, athletics, taekwondo, boxing, weightlifting and football.
Lahore will host badminton and table tennis (girls) events from May 20 to 22 and Under-14 hockey tournament from May 20 to 24.
Meanwhile, athletics competitions of Under-14 boys and Under-16 girls will be held here in Karachi from May 15 to 21. The boys’ taekwondo will be contested in Hyderabad during the same dates.
The table tennis event of Under-14 boys will be organised in Gilgit-Baltistan in the first week of June while the football competition will be organised in AJK.
