Karachi: Sindh Squash Association (SSA) in its Executive Committee and Annual General Council Meeting today (Saturday) sacked its secretary Muhammad Amir Khan.
President SSA Tahir Khanzada presided over the two meetings of SSA, which were held on Saturday in Hyderabad.
“Several members of the meeting said that during last three years, Secretary SSA has neither contacted them, nor even reported regarding any activities of SSA. It was further learned that the secretary never replies or responds any queries of members, whenever he was contacted by various district squash associations of Sindh,” Tahir said after the meeting.
Tahir further said that being secretary, Amir didn’t have SSA records audited and he also never visited any districts. “He also never took approval of spending millions of rupees fund, which is mandatory. He also didn’t pay any heed of maintaining and looking after administrative affairs of PSF Jahangir Khan Squash Complex.”
“And now he didn’t attend today’s meeting despite information. All the members showed their dissatisfaction over the performance and working of the sectary. Finally it was unanimously decided to suspend Amir and also took the decision was taken to issue a show cause notice to him for mismanagement of funds and other discrepancies,” Tahir added.
“It was further decided that during the suspension period of Amir, Engr. Aijaz Sheikh would act as Secretary SSA,” he said.
“Meanwhile, it was decided in the meeting that SSA will request Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) to allocate SSA for organizing the forthcoming Asian Junior Team Championship 2015, scheduled to be held in January and February 2015 in Pakistan,” he said.
“We also have asked District Squash Associations of Sindh to submit their annual activity plan to SSA by May 20 for the year 2014.”
