Two bandits killed; robbery bid foiled


KARACHI: A robbery attempt was foiled in Karachi on Tuesday as two bandits were killed by a policeman while resisting the robbery at a private bank in Sharafi Goth. According to police, two armed robbers tried to loot an Apna Bank situated at Feature More in Landhi but a policeman resisted their attempt. Over retaliation, the dacoits opened fire on the policeman. During exchange of fire, two robbers were killed and Sub-Inspector Ishaque was injured, who was on patrolling.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively. The identity of the bandits could not be ascertained.

The condition of the injured cop was stated to be serious. Two bullets hit him – one in neck and other in chest.
