KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Transport Mir Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani has directed the officers of transport department to launch a drive against public commercial vehicles plying with substandard CNG cylinder and violating OGRA rules.
Action should also be taken against vehicles plying on roads without route permits or without valid route permits, he while presiding over a high level meeting of transport department officers, here at his office on Wednesday.
Secretary Mass & Transit Department Taha Ahmed Farooqui, Additional Secretaries Abdul Wahab Memon, Ali Shir Mirani, Secretary PTA Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Secretary District Regional Transport Authority Karachi and all field officers attended the meeting.
The minister directed that efforts be made to facilitate general public with the strict implementation of fare structure and directed to take stern action against the vehicles plying on the roads without route permits or without valid route permits.
He said that the People’s government was keen interest to facilitate general public according to international standard transport facility very soon. He directed officers to approach relevant commissioners and RPOs for successful drive against the vehicles.
