Gangster killed; four bodies recovered in Karachi

KARACHI: Five people were killed in separate incidents of violence and a police encounter in the city on Wednesday. Police said they with Rangers conducted a joint raid in Lyari, where an encounter with criminals occurred. They said the security personnel retaliated fire in which a notorious gangster, Behram Baloch, was killed.

The police further said that the action was taken on a tip-off in Baghdadi area of Lyari.

They claimed that Behram was a notorious gangster and was wanted to police in several cases of killings, extortion and kidnapping for ransom. He belonged to Wasi Ullah Lakho group of the gang-war. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

Moreover, the bullet-riddled bodies of four people were recovered from Gulshan-e-Hadeed. The identities of the victims could not be ascertained yet. They were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsies.
