Karachi: Following the directive of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui the Municipal Services Department started its 21st round of fumigation under Malaria/Dengue Control Program in all districts of Karachi and district council Karachi from 24th February 2014 which will complete on 5th March 2014.
According to schedule of insecticide spray all areas of Saddar and Lyari Zones of DMC South were covered on the first day of present round.
The spray teams will perform fumigation in Gulshan and Jamshed Town Zone of DMC East on 25th February, in New Karachi and Gulberg Zone of DMC Central on 26th February, in Liaquatabad and North Nazimabad Zone of DMC Central on 27th February, in Baldia Town and Keamari Zone of DMC West on 28th February, in SITE and Orangi Town Zone of DMC West on 1st March, in Korangi, Bin Qasim and Shah Faisal Zone of DMC Korangi on 3rd March and in Landhi, Malir and Gadap Town Zone of DMC Malir on 5th March 2014.
Spray will be carried out in the evening hours in all union councils of above zone.
The Administrator/Municipal Commissioner of the concerned DMC had been requested to depute an officer for monitoring of fumigation work inside their jurisdiction. The malaria control in-charge of the district will also ensure their presence on this occasion.
The Senior Director Municipal Services has directed all concerned officers to oversee the spray work and assign duties to the staff in accordance to the schedule and submit the report of work carried out on daily basis to the Municipal Services Department.
All Malaria/Dengue Fever Control Program in-charges were also directed to ensure their presence on their duty during the spray work.
