Plan devised to provide security to ASH staff, patients

Karachi: A plan has been devised to provide security to the patients and medical staff at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).

Under the plan, police and ranger officers will be deployed inside and outside routes of hospital. In this connection a meeting was held for better security arrangements in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital which was chaired by KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi in which Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan, Director General Technical Services Niaz Soomro, Sr. Director Medical Services AD Sajnani, Principal of KMDC Waqar Kazmi, MS Doctor of Abbassi Shaheed Hospital Nadeem Rajput and other officers were present.

He said that safety of human lives was our first priority therefore a comprehensive plan was being prepared for providing full proof security to patients, doctors and paramedical staff. Two big gates would be built on inside and outside routes of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where along with security check posts more security officers would be deployed whereas along with installing more CCTV cameras walk through gates would be installed. The administrator directed to take immediate steps for the elimination of encroachments surrounding Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The administrator urged the projects under public private partnership for betterment of the hospital so that citizens could be provided with better medical facilities. He said that inside routes of trauma centre should be designed such as no incontinence would be faced by emergency patients whereas along with improving fire fighting system cleanliness should be considered properly.

He said Abbasi Shaheed Hospital is an organization for serving citizens, therefore, we want patients and medical staff feel secure while performing their responsibilities. He said measures for better traffic flow would be taken so that ambulances due to traffic jam would not face any difficulty.
