Rangers detain one suspect for 90 days

KARACHI: Rangers produced one suspect before Anti-Terrorism Court on Friday to intimate the court about his preventive detention for interrogation.

Personnel of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, along with their own counsel produced one suspect, Qazi Mohammad Sohail alias Kashif, before ATC-III Judge under tight security.

They informed the court that he was picked up in South corner and the paramilitary force had information about his alleged involvement in extortion, target killing and others offences.

They contended that the suspect was required to be questioned for the allegedly involvement in criminal activities.

According to Rangers accused belongs to a political party.

The recent amendments in Anti-Terrorism Act 1997’ Section II EEEEE in November 2013 has authorized the paramilitary force to detain suspects till three months for interrogations.
