KARACHI: Speakers of a moot has urged the government to give a serious focus to the internal issues and strive for providing citizens basic needs of life including education and security.
Speaking at the inauguration of book titled “Pak – Afghan Security Dilemma: imperfect past and uncertain future” written by Prof. Dr. Mutahir Ahmed, Chairman Department of International Relations University of Karachi at Arts Auditorium of the university Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser said Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism since 80’s. He said extremism, intolerance and trade of drugs have changed the dynamics of Pakistani Society. The need of hour is to analyze these issues in academic way and take serious efforts to resolve them, he added.
Noted historian Dr. Mubark Ali stated that universities should focus on research based on objectivity and scientific thinking. About the book he stated that the book focused on in depth security concern facing by Pakistan and Afghanistan and it is an excellent addition on the subject.
Dr. Tauseef Ahmed Khan said that Pakistan should focus on domestic issues and put its house in order. He stated that this book is a good edition on this important subject, which offers deep study on Pak-Afghan security concerns, socioeconomic and political issues with great depth.
Dr. Mutahir Ahmed said that he has been working on this region for last twenty five years. Pakistan is at the crossroad and its decision makers should face these challenges with care; otherwise it will have disastrous fall out for the region and adverse effects on Pakistan.
