Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to Secretary Interior Ministry, Sindh Home Secretary, Director General Rangers, Inspector General of Police Sindh, and other law-enforcers in identical petitions seeking whereabouts of missing persons.
Abdul Hameed Khan approached to court, submitting that his son Zeeshan about 35 years along with his wife Sadia Begum about 30 years old, minor son Fakhir about 5 years old and daughter Hiba about six years old had been missing since 26 October 2012.
He stated that he approached to Shahrah-e-Faisal Police station but neither they lodged any FIR in this regard nor made any effort to find the whereabouts of missing persons.
Another petitioner Abdul Ghafoor approached the court, submitting her wife Shakeela along with his son Ali Raza went to bazaar for shopping and went missing.
He stated that he approached Al-Falah police station and FIR was lodged but no effort made by law –enforcers to recover them.
Both petitioners cited Federation of Pakistan through Secretary of Interior Ministry, government of Sindh through Secretary Home department, Director General Rangers, Inspector General of Police Sindh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Sindh, and station house officers of concerned police stations as respondents
Headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam, the division bench along with respondents issued notice to Advocate General Sindh and deputy attorney general to file their comments.
