Special people demand representation in assemblies

KARACHI: Special peoples staged a protest under Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) outside the Karachi Press Club, demanding passing a bill regarding representation of special people in assemblies

The participants, holding placards and banners in their hands, were chanting slogans. They thanked Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for tabling the bill, but they criticized some other political parties in the standing committee who they said were opposing this bill.

Speaking on the occasion, National Coordinator of DWA Shah Nawaz Manami said that the political parties claim them as friend of public, but they are not willing to give representation to the disabled peoples’ rights in federal and provincial assemblies.

He demanded passage of the bill so that the rights of special people could be defended.
