Karachi: Pakistan women cricket team took revenge of their earlier defeat in the tournament at the hands of their Irish counterparts after registering a 21-run triumph in PCB Qatar Women’s T20 Tri-Series Cricket Tournament in Doha, Qatar on Monday night.
Ireland had earlier defeated Pakistan registering a six-wicket victory on Sunday.
Pakistan batted first in the match and put on board a competitive total of 132-5 in allotted 20 overs. Nain Abidi batted well for the side and scored 56 off 58 balls. Bismah Maroof also batted well for the side, playing a quick 23-run knock off only 12 balls.
Ireland in response scored 111-5 in 20 overs. Elena Tice top scored for the side scoring 44 runs. Skipper Isobel Joyce scored 36 runs. Qanita Jalil and Nida Dar captured two wickets each.
Ireland and Pakistan will now meet South Africa, the third team competing in the event, on Thursday January 22 respectively. The final will be played on January 24.
