Sports: Tennis: Hania tops Sindh tennis rankings


Karachi: Hania Naveed has topped Sindh ladies’ ranking table for the year 2014 according to the rankings published by Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) on Friday. Hania accumulated a total of 240 ranking points to sail at the top of the table. Last year’s top ranked player Maheen Dada has fallen to fifth spot. Neha Khan and Wania Khan are ranked at second and third place respectively.

Meanwhile, Pakistan number 1 Aqeel Khan has comfortably retained his top position in men’s singles category with 180 points. He is followed by younger siblings Yasir Khan at second place and Jalil Khan at No 4. Fahim Ramzan is ranked at No 3.

Ibrahim Iltifat, Malik Hamza and Talha Zubair are top three ranked U17 players respectively at first, second and third place. U15 ranking table is led by Muhammad Raza Sawani followed by Hasan Farooq and Nazif Ahmed at second and third place respectively.

Zubair Raja is Sindh top ranked U13 player followed by Bilal Imran and Muhammad Ahmed at second and third place respectively. Top U11 singles players are Muhammad Dada, Rayyan Jawwad and Asheesh Kumar respectively at first, second and third place. In U-9 singles category, Muhammad Yahya is top ranked kid followed by Ehtisham and Ibrahim Khan at second and third place respectively.
