Three killed in Clifton cylinder blast


Karachi: At least three people including two minors were killed and three others injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a house in Neelum Colony area of Clifton Karachi on Sunday. SHO Boat Basin Nasir Ahmed told PPI that the exact cause of the blast was not yet ascertained but the bomb disposal squad team was examining the crime scene. “What we have learned through earlier investigation is that it was a cylinder blast which left three people dead including two children.”

According to rescue sources, three people including a boy and his sister were killed in explosion. The victims were identified as 3-year-old Chahat, daughter of Sabir, 8-year-old Shamil and 55-year-old Ghulam Haider, son of Khuda Baksh.

The injured were identified as Sumaira, 4, daughter of Sajid, Sania, 6, daughter of Sajid and Samina, 17, daughter of Ghulam Sarwar.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
