KARACHI: Three people, including two policemen, were killed in separate incidents in the city on Thursday.
Unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire on a mobile of Taimoria police station near Shafiq Morr, killing two cops and injured one other. According to SHO Taimoria police station Ijaz Lodhi, two policemen were killed and one other injured when armed men opened fire on a police mobile patrolling near Shafiq Morr. The victims were identified as head constable Javed and constable Asif while the injured was identified as Saleem.
Lodhi said that casings of 9 mm pistol were found from the crime scene and they were investigating the attack. The bodies and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively.
In another incident, unidentified armed men opened fire in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 15 and injured 45-year-old Wasi Haider. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
A man was found dead outside Burns Centre of Civil Hospital Karachi. Rescue sources said the man died of consuming excessive drugs. The body could not be identified yet and was shifted to a morgue after legal formalities.
