Two robbers jailed for five years

Karachi: Assistant additional Sessions Judge (East) Sarwat Sultana on Monday sentenced a robber five-year imprisonment in a dacoity case. The court found Saeed Ahmed and Mrs Shazia guilty of committing robbery in a house in Khokhrapar locality of Karachi. The additional district and sessions Judge, who conducted the trial, pronounced the verdict after hearing. The court sentenced five years imprisonment under Section 395 (punishment for dacoity) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs40000 each and if the convicts failed to pay, they would have to undergo an additional two-month imprisonment.

According to the prosecution the accused broke into the house of one Mohammad Tasleem and deprived his family of nine tolas of gold, jewellers and other valuables. Khokhrapar police party followed the fleeing accused and arrested them on 07-09-2013 after an encounter.
