Ratodero, Sindh: A kidnapped Social Welfare Officer of Larkana district and his driver have yet to be recovered by police despite passage of eight days. Amir Ali Abro was kidnapped on December 5th when he was returning from Sukkur to Larkana in a government car along with driver Zulfiqar Mashori.
Later, the car was found abandoned in the limits of Tamachani police station of Shikarpur district. Larkana and Shikarpur police have not so far registered any case due to dispute about territory. The kidnapped officer is younger brother of Gada Hussain Abro, caretaker of Waryal Faqeer shrine. Since last three days about 10 Faqeers of the shrine wearing Sufi costumes have spread in nearby villages to request villagers telling them any clue about the missing men.
People of Abroa community and activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have established a ‘protest camp’ on Jinnah Bagh roundabout Larkana. Quran Khuwani is being held regularly at the houses of Abro and Mashori communities.
JSQM Vice Chairman, Niaz Kalani, Awami Jamhoori Party President Karam Hussain Wassan, PML-F’s Akbar Rashidi and other leaders have visited the protest camp to expressed solidarity with the protesters.
Gada Hussain Abro told PPI that they have no enmity with anyone. He demanded safe recovery of the two men without payment of extortion money.
