Mahenti inaugurates pictorial exhibition on Egypt situation

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mahenti on Thursday inaugurated a “pictorial exhibition” at Karachi Press Club (KPC) on brutality of Egyptian Army on the innocent people of Egypt.

The Exhibition was organised by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chapter in connection with a Solidarity March for the people of Egypt and Syria on 8 Sept from Mazar-e-Quaid to Tibet Center. Leaders from various political and religious parties and people from different walks of life were also present at large number.

Speaking at the occasion, JI Karachi Chief said that the United States and other western powers, who called them “Champions of Democracy” are patronising the Egyptian Army for killing their innocent countrymen including elderly people, women and children. Mahenti said that the United Nations and other international organisations of human rights are become silent spectators over the current situation of Egypt, where the Egyptian Army has refreshed the memories of ‘Pirhoon’.

“The entire Muslim Ummah is in colossal mental agony over the worst condition in Egypt and Syria, adding that the Jamaat-e-Islami while feeling their sentiments and emotions has scheduled a protest march on 8 Sept in order to express the solidity with the people of Egypt and Syria”, he announced.

On the occasion, Mahenti reiterated his party demands to restore the Morsi Government in Egypt and to arrest the General Sisi in case of army insurgency and register war crime cases against him. JI Sindh Naib Ameer Asadullah Bhutto, Naib Ameer Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Mehfooz Yar Khan of AML, Basharat Mirza of PDP, Mufti Usman Yar Khan of JUI and others leaders also spoke on the occasion. JI Naib Ameer Barjees Ahmed, Nasrullah Shajih, Younus Barai, Usman Baloch, Yousuf Masti Khan and others were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the JI leaders delivered addresses and invited the people to participate in the Solidarity March with Egypt and Syria on Sunday. The protests against the ongoing barbarism in Egypt and Syria were also observed in different areas including Water pump, FB Area, Jail Chowrangi, Nursery, Jauhar Morr, Dock Road, Malir, Gulshan Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Manzil Pump, Landhi, Dawood Chowrangi, Quaidabad, Korangi No.5, Korangi No. 2 ½ , Metroville and areas of the city.
