Karachi: Sindh Minister for Food Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar has taken serious notice in increase of wheat flour prices and said that crackdown has been launched on flour mills owners selling the flour at high prices.
Addressing a meeting of Food Department on Thursday, he said that there was no shortage of wheat in the province and official wheat quota for flour mills was sanctioned with the mutual understanding with flour mill owners that they would not increase the price of the flour. He added that action would be taken against those who had violated the commitment.
Dahar said that Section 144 Cr. P.C. had been imposed on Sindh – Balochistan Border to stop the smuggling of the wheat to other provinces from Sindh.
