Nation celebrates Quaid-e-Azam’s 137 birth anniversary

Islamabad: The 137th birthday of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was celebrated throughout the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

A change of guard ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Military Academy Kakool took guard responsibilities at the Mazar from Pakistan Air Force cadets.

Commandant of the Academy‚ Major General Nazir Ahmad Butt inspected the guard‚ offered Fateh and laid a wreath at the Mazar.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah also visited the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. They offered fateha and placed floral wreath at the Mazar.

Various cultural organizations and educational institutions have chalked out different programmes to highlight the life and political achievements of the great leader.

Newspapers published special supplements highlighting various aspects on the life of the father of the nation. TV channels aired special programmes on the day. It was a public holiday.
