NATO assistant chief to begin Algeria visit today

Algiers NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Alejandro Alvargonzalez will arrive Monday in Algeria for a three-day working visit to the North African country, Algeria Press Service (APS) reported.

This visit is part of the bilateral consultations under the Atlantic Alliance Mediterranean Dialogue which Algeria joined in March 2000, Algeria's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

During the visit, the NATO official is scheduled to hold meetings with Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, and senior Algerian managers in charge of Mediterranean Dialogue, the statement added.
