Pervez Khattak gives commendation letters and cash prizes to efficient police personnel


Peshawar: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is a valiant force while the Bomb Disposal Unit is even more courageous while it is also appreciable that over 700 Jawans of this force have laid down their lives for durable peace and securing the lives of the masses in the province. He deplored that the monthly salary package of KP Police is far less than that of Punjab. He assured that the salaries of KP police will be brought at par with those of Punjab Police, and directed the provincial government to approve monthly allowance worth Rs. Five Thousands per head for the BDU personnel and similarly grant lucrative allowance for the handlers of sniffer dogs.

He was addressing a function held in Peshawar to give commendation letters and cash prizes to the police personnel with extra ordinary performance in foiling the attempts of terrorism, kidnap for ransom and defusing improvised explosive devices. Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, General Secretary PTI Jehangir Tareen, Advisor to CM Ziaullah Afridi, Chairman DDAC Peshawar Ishtiaq Urmar, Inspector General Police Nasir Durrani and authorities of district administration also attended the function.

Imran Khan expressed satisfaction that positive changes were in process and merit and rule of law were being followed in the internal matters of KP police adding that it was all possible because police had been given free hand and political interference in police affairs had been put to an end for the greater cause of ensuring the safety of the public and restoration of durable peace in the province.

Peace cannot be ensured until and unless police is strengthened and when police is not strengthened the lives and properties of citizens cannot be secured and, therefore, the provincial government will take all possible measures to strengthen police like that is developed countries; Imran Khan maintained and added that he foresee positive changes and durable peace in the province in the coming couple of months.

Imran Khan was of the view that they are not slaves but an independent and sovereign nation and America and the NATO must respect our sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said that the people and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would neither accept the slavery nor dictation of foreign forces adding that the provincial government had come into power with the mandate of the people and by the U.S, hence it would strive to fulfill the desires and expectations of the public instead of following the dictation of others.

He assured that there would be no political interference in the internal matters of police and there would be no blue eyed of the provincial government in police, however, the police will have to show performance, he added. “We want such a government in the province which can deliver to the people to their entire satisfaction”; Khan maintained and assured full support to the police on behalf of his party and the provincial government.

Addressing on the occasion of IGP Nasir Durrani thanked Imran Khan for visiting the residence of martyred police personnel and to condole with the families of shuhada as well as participating in the function held to encourage the police jawans.

He said that KP Police was always targeted but it had never surrendered at any critical moments. He said that more than 95 percent police of KP was brave, dutiful and honest while the rest black sheep earning bad name for police were being weeded out.

He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for giving free hand to police department in the internal management of handling police force and expressed the hope that the provincial government would extend full support to meet the requirements of police. Addressing the function DIG Headquarters Mubarak Zeb highlighted the overall performance of police.

Later the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak gave away commendation letters and cash prizes to the police personnel with good performance in foiling attempts of terrorism, kidnaps for ransom and defusing explosive materials.
