Peshawar: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that his govt’s is endeavoring to achieve the targets of the abolition of terrorism, establishment of durable peace, security and progress and development of the people constantly. “Now our province and city is no more No Man land as its protectors have come”, he added.
He expressed these views while talking to different delegations of Lakki Marwat, Kohistan and other southern areas which called on him here in CM Secretariat in the leadership of the PTI central leader and son of the late veteran parliamentarian from southern districts, Anwar Kamal Khan, Mansoor Kamal and Advisor to CM on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Abdul Haq.
The Chief Minister said that the days of elements, who were luring our poor children for using them for terrorism are numbered and now our youth are returning to the national mainstream and exhibiting their capabilities in all sectors of life. He said that as per his govt proposals the FATA IDPs are returning to their houses while the processes of the honourable repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland has also been started.
He said that the deployment of the platoons of Frontier Constabulary (FC) on the check posts identified on borders with FATA and Afghan borders during British Raj is also in the anvil, saying at these crucial phases of the restoration of peace national reconstruction, the political consensus, harmony and unity are inevitable. He said his govt will welcome the cooperation of all political forces in this regard. He urged the PTI workers and leaders for playing the role of bridge and strengthens contacts with people and public representative.
The Chief Minister also told the delegations that besides investment in the construction of hydel power projects, the provincial government will also extend all out cooperation to WAPDA for big power stations, which also includes Dasu Dam in Kohistan. In next phases of these endeavors, he said load shedding would be abolished and economic conditions of the people will also register improvement.
The delegation of Kohistan that comprised Abdul Sattar Khan, Wajihuzzaman, Zarin Gul MPAs, Malik Sar Mukhtar, Shams-ur-Rehmana and Malik Qadam Khan thanked the chief minister for the resolution of the longstanding land acquisition problem for Dasu Dam with the consent of the local population and paving way for the restarting of work suspended for last four months on this important dam.
The Chief Minister while assuring the proper redressal of the problems and meeting demands of the delegations said that public demands in all sectors including health, education, drinking water and irrigation would be fulfilled.
He said that difference in past and present is that our ministers instead of lips services and making of hallow announcements taking steps on the basis of ground realities. All means of corruption and wastage of public exchequer have been closed and now funds are spent on the welfare of the people in a very transparent manner.
To the demand of the establishment of University in Lakki Marwat, the chief minster clarified that that they are establishing the network of educational institutions on basis of the requirements of each district and for this purpose, the establishment of at least one university or campus in each district is included in the priorities of their coming financial year.
Regarding the shifting of the district headquarters of Lakki Marwat from Tajazai to Lakki City, he said that any decision in this regard will not be taken on the basis of politics, rather according to the public demands and technical needs and if it is in public interest then it would be an ultimate decision.
He besides, agriculture, irrigation and drinking water also assured the redressal of the problems related to schools and hospitals and clarified that on the pattern of water and sanitation company, Peshawar (WSSP) ,public companies will also start functioning in all divisional headquarters and other big cities of the province soon. He said that Emergency Rescue Service 1122 is also being extended there while besides bringing hospitals at the level of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) also being granted autonomous and teaching hospital status.
The delegations thanked the chief minister for his awareness regarding the problems of the people and taking of solid steps and evolving of clear line of action for its resolution. It assured their full cooperation to the government in the implementation of its transparent polices.
