Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Industries, Commerce & Labour Mr. Bakht Baidar Khan has said that Allah has bestowed both KP and FATA with rich natural resources but due to poverty, lack of skill, machinery and resources neither the local population nor the world community can avail proper benefit of it.
Talking to a Canadian delegation led by the Mehreen Javaid and the Counsellor (political and Pakhtunkhwa Trade) from the Canadian High Commission at the Pakhtunkhwa House Islamabad Friday, he called upon the developed nations of the world like Canada to come forward and invest in the exploration of rich mineral resources of FATA and KP which would benefit both the nations.
He also said that there was serious shortage of skill development and technology and these nations should contribute both to the transfer of technology and skill. This, Bakhtbaidar said will eradicate poverty and unemployment on the one hand and militancy and terrorism on the other.
The Canadian delegation formally invited the Province to participate in the upcoming international exhibition to be organized in Canada in March next in which delegations from 125 countries of the world will show case their mineral and natural resources.
The invitation was in principle accepted and it was decided that a stall for the province’ resources will be booked with the help of the Canadian Chamber of commerce.
Representatives of Mineral and Industries departments both from FATA and KP as well as KP Chamber of commerce were present on this occasion.
