Peshawar: The Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Journalists Welfare and Safety Development Foundation (JWSDF) and Takht Bhai Press Club for their success in the annual elections and expected that the newly elected office holders and their other companions would continue their sincere efforts for the welfare of journalists as well as for the promotion of high journalistic values in the society.
In his separate messages of felicitation to Syed Ali Hazrat Bacha and Hayatullah, the newly elected Chairpersons of JWSDF and Takht Bhai Press Club respectively, the Chief Minister said that in the prevalent circumstances when peace process had just been started to put an end to the unrest and terrorism in the country stretching on a time period of one decade long, besides politicians and government, there lied a heavy responsibility on the shoulders of journalists to play their due role in making the peace efforts a real success and guiding both the public and the government in the right direction.
Pervez Khattak said that following instructions of his party Chief Imran Khan, his provincial govt would fully cooperate with Taliban and govt dialogue committees with the aim to bring about lasting peace and tranquility in the entire region and the wars and unrest stricken people heave sigh of relief over here.
The Chief Minister also expressed the hope that the newly elected office bearers would utilize their professional capabilities to effectively highlight the public issues at proper levels. He said that the Journalist of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have rendered matchless sacrifices in the wave of unrest and terrorism adding that they had even laid down their lives in the discharge of their professional duties, and the provincial government highly valued their sacrifices.
Pervez Khattak assured that the incumbent provincial government would take all out steps to ensure welfare and security of journalists and provide them a conducive environment for the discharge of their professional duties.
He also expected that all the newly elected office bearers would make the best use of their leadership qualities for the welfare of journalist community, highlighting the national issues and put forward useful recommendations to the government in this regard. The Chief Minister assured them full support of the provincial government to this effect.
