Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah has said that dialogues with Taliban are under way which would be continued till success because the federal government is serious in negotiations with Taliban, however, he said that those who want to sabotage peace talks would not be succeeded in their vested interests.
The KP governor Engineer Shaukatullah said this in his day long visit to Landikotal where he addressed a selected gathering of elders and Maliks from Jamrud, Landikotal and Bara tehsils of Khyber Agency. He said that tribals were loyal to the country who want peace and development in Fata. “Enemy of our country are our enemies, governor said, adding that miscreants would not succeed in their nefarious designs.
“Those who use their false tactics to sabotage peace talks would be held responsible for further destruction and bloodshed as talks between TTP and the government committees are under way on the right direction”, the governor said.
He criticized the elders role and said that they should cooperate with the local administration and security forces to overcome the deteriorated law and order situation in Fata and soon send back the displaced tribals to their homes.
The governor said they have completed homework to hold Local Government(LG ) elections but there is a lack of funds, adding they need funds to form autonomous elected and independent Fata councils.
Regarding changes in Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR), the governor said that a reforms package in FCR had been sent to the president for approval. He also said that several mega projects were initiated in Mohmand and Bajaur agencies, adding that all tube wells in tribal areas would provided solar panels systems to meet water shortage problems.
The Governor KP announced one million to be distributed among the jirga members. Later talking to media he said that a peace process led and owned by the Afghans would be seconded because he said that Pakistan was in favour of a united, peaceful and stable Afghanistan.
KP Governor Assured the jirga that government schools repair work would be started soon, adding that mega projects would be preferred in FATA to overcome backwardness in tribal areas. He also announced to upgrade a BHU in Bazaar Zakha Khel to facilitate the locals.
Earlier governor Engineer Shaukat Allah paid visits to Landikotal hospital where he roamed in various wards, besides administering polio drops to children in the hospital.
He also visited historic Michni check post. Governor KP was accompanied by commissioner Peshawar Munir Azam, ACS FATA Arbab Arif and political agent Khyber Shahab Ali Shah and MNAs Alhaj Shah Jee Gul and Nasir Khan. Some tribal elders also spoke on the occasion to update governor on their problems.
